Main chemical medium:

  • Sulfuric Acid: a industrial raw material with very wide application, but it is with strong corrosion so that WCB and Cast Iron are not suitable for it, based on different concentrations and temperature, SS304 and SS316 would be suitable for it but it is with limited anti-corrosive performance for sulfuric acid medium; Valves lined with fluorine material is the most suitable one for it, because it is with excellent corrosion resistance to sulfuric acid and it’s with good economical cost.
  • Hydrochloric Acid: Most of the non-metallic material are with good corrosion resisistance to hydrochloric acid, but most of the metallic material are with an opposite effect, so fluorine lined valves and plastic valves such as PP, PVDF valves are the good choice for conveying hydrochloric acid.
  • Nitric Acid: There is wide application of Stainless steel in Nitric Acid material, in normal temperature, SS304, SS321 are even with better anti-corrosion performance than SS316 and SS316L. But it normaly needs titanium and titanium alloy material for high temperature nitric acid.
  • Acetic Acid: it can be serious corrosion to use normal steel material in nitric acid with different concentration and temperature, but it’s a good choice to use stainless steel for acetic acid, molybdenum-containing stainless steel 316 even can be used for high temperature and dilute acetic acid steam. And users can choose high alloy stainless steel or fluorine plastic valves for high temperature, high concentration acetic acid or other corrosive medium contained application.

  • Working pressure including continous working pressure, max instantaneous condition working pressure, manufacturers must make sure that the valve body, valve plug, and operational units can meet with it
  • Leakage: It’s important to do sealing test before delivery the valves, make sure if the valve seat does not have leakage problem.
